The Season of Lent offers us a new opportunity to reflect on God’s gift of grace to us in Christ—through Bible reading and prayer, through fasting and self-denial, through service to others—we are called to give our lives to Him. Maximize these days of opportunity!
A Lenten Communion Breakfast is planned for Sunday, March 18th, 9:15 to 10:15 during the Sunday school hour, as an opportunity for fellowship and conversation, as a celebration of Christian family and faith. There will be a short devotion on the cross, followed by Communion. ALL are Welcome!!!
On Palm Sunday The Stevens Family will return & present a Concert program at 10:00 am. This concert will preempt the 8:15 worship hour and Sunday school. Invite family & friends to enjoy this program of gospel music, presenting the message of Jesus Christ!
Awana Club & Youth Group, Wednesday, 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Children age 3 through 5th grade meet in Awana Club. Grades 6 to 12 are included in the Youth Group.
Prayer Shawl/Lap Robe Ministry’s Next Meeting, March 17 – 10:00 am to Noon, at the home of Alicia Navratil, 1354 Kiner Blvd, Carlisle, PA. Anyone is welcome to participate in this on-going ministry.
Chancel Choir Rehearsal Wednesday, March 21st at 8:15 pm, preparing worship music for Lent and Easter, welcoming voices on all parts to participate!
Thank You for Giving to the project costs for a district short-term missions trip to Haiti, April 26 – May 5. Bill & Faye Knouse will be part of an 11-member team on this trip to refurbish the medical clinic at the Wesleyan hospital on La Gonave island, off the main land of Haiti.
Women’s Prayer & Bible Study—2nd & 4th Thursday evenings, 7:00 pm—open to any ladies who would enjoy an informal opportunity for conversation and prayer, and time in the Word of God. The group meets next on March 22nd!
A Community Lenten Breakfast has been announced for Saturday, March 24th, 8:30 am at New Life Community Church, corner of North and Bedford Streets, Carlisle. Tickets are available here at the church.
Mark Your Calendar for Holy Week—a service Maundy Thursday, March 29th, at 7:00 pm celebrating our faith in the crucified, risen and living Savior! The worship on Maundy Thursday will include Holy Communion.
Good Friday we will observe a community celebration of the Stations of the Cross, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 pm, a march among downtown churches, stopping for a reflection on the last hours of Jesus’ earthly life followed by prayers for the Carlisle community. Our church is invited to participate.
Ladies’ Lunch at Naomi’s Country Kitchen in Newburg, Thursday, March 15th, leaving church at 10:30 am. Cost of $20 includes the complete meal with beverage & dessert—all you can eat! Invite a friend! Sign up in narthex.
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Community Service Day has been announced for April 14th, 8:00 am to Noon, picnic lunch in Heberlig-Palmer Park at Noon. Volunteers are needed for removing yard waste, landscaping, trimming bushes, painting fences & other small projects in the area between N. College & N. Hanover streets, and W.
